All Catalina Fleet 69 is a friendly and active group of sailors in the
Lake Travis and Austin, Texas area. The organization promotes recreational sailing,
fellowship, and skill development through regular meetings, cruises, and social
activities. The fleet welcomes all owners of Catalina, Capri and Morgan yachts.
Members enjoy
monthly dinner meetings where they share knowledge of their boats and sailing in
general. Topics include anchoring, maintenance, racing, docking and many other
aspects of using and enjoying your boat! Almost every month, the fleet organizes a
"theme" cruise held at one of the popular coves on Lake Travis. The fleet
also enjoys "out of town" trips including bareboat yacht charters and
trailer-sailing excursions to destinations like Corpus Christi.
In June, the fleet holds their monthly dinner meeting at the Austin Yacht
Club. Members and guests enjoy a potluck dinner including burgers on the
grill. After dinner, there might be an evening moonlight sail! Several members of the
fleet are also active in AYC events such as the Turnback Canyon Regatta and the Governor's
Cup Regatta, held on a weekend near July 4th.
For three years, the fleet has enjoyed an October trip to Corpus Christi. A few
members may trailer their boat; others will likely charter a boat or two from Jim Schwobel
at the Corpus Christi Sailing Center.
So many expressed interest in the trip in 1999 that we needed two large charter boats.
Some of the monthly cruise themes are the "June Moon Luau", the "Fajita
Cruise", and "Green Eggs and Ham Upon a Split Pea Soup Sea"! Come
early to cool off with a swim; stay late and enjoy the full moon.
If you are interested in joining the fun and fellowship of the All Catalina Fleet 69,
visit the fleet's website for more
information on membership.

Twenty-five members on nine of the fleet's Catalinas enjoy a
late-January cruise to Barry's Cove. A water level of 663.9' above msl provides a
"real" sandy beach, and temps in the upper 70s make for a wonderful afternoon.
