On the '99 wing-keel, Catalina chose the chromed bronze Lewmar 16ST winches (self-tailing) to handle the genoa sheets.  There is no need for cam cleats.   These winches cost $482 ea. in the '99 West Marine catalog.  Note the sheet bags attached to the cabin below the winch.  These same bags are located near the cockpit floor/mainsheet swivel base on the centerboard model.  I suppose the wing-keel's traveler would foul the jib sheets if the sheet bags were placed low on the cockpit floor.

On the '99 centerboard, Catalina installed chromed bronze Lewmar 7 winches to handle the jib.  Harken Cam-Matic ball-bearing cleats are used to lock the jib sheet in place.  These winches cost $162 ea. in the '99 West Marine catalog.

[Note:  On some older models of the C250 centerboard, Catalina used Lewmar 6 winches. The 1996 centerboard seen in these comparisons employs these smaller winches.]

in a sailboat, you are already there."
