Freeboard on the '99 wing-keel is at least 6" more than on the centerboard model.  Bob Bumala, another C250 owner, put it this way:  "Yes indeed the WK rides higher than the WB. Remember, of course, that fiberglass doesn't float. Therefore a boat bouyed up by the weight of the volume of water it displaces. The ballast tank of a WB, since it's filled with water, doesn't displace water, but the lack of a tank on the WK does. The actual weight of the two boats is about the same, so the WB boat needs to sit lower to displace the same amount of water. Notice how much lower this '96 centerboard sits in the water.
