Photographs of my Catalina 250

Single-bowl stainless steel sink with Whale "Flipper" pump.   Directly behind sink is the Seaward single-burner propane cooktop.  Two galley drawers to the right.  Below drawers is the space for the Coleman 48 quart ice chest (not shown).  +

Electrical panel and inexpensive RadioShack digital multimeter used as voltmeter.   The multimeter can be pressed into service as an ampmeter if necessary.  The digital variety is the only way to go; precision +/- 2% to hundredths of a volt.  Try to do this with an analog meter.  A 12-volt recepticle has been added to the inspection port to the right.  Below the inspection port is the electrical cut-off switch for the propane solenoid located in the right cockpit locker.  Propane setup is standard equipment on the 1999 Catalina 250.

Rear berth.  I installed a Group 27 battery to augment the Group 24 battery that Catalina shipped with the boat.  Both batteries are located behind the hatch at rear of aft berth.  To the left of the hatch is a flush-mounted Blue Sea Systems Off/1/Both/2 battery switch.  Not the best location, but I don't have to worry about voltage drops because of long cable runs.  My Honda 9.9hp's 10 amp alternator is able to charge either or both of the batteries.  The canvas above the hatch is the "inspection" port for the Edson steering system.
